Terms of Service

Effective date: January 1, 2025

1. The Service. SecureYourParent provides a guided video session (the "Session") - roughly 60 minutes for the Solo Plan, 90 minutes for the Duo Plan, and 2 hours for the Family Plan - during which a consultant walks the client and the client's designated family member(s) through publicly available identity-protection steps, including but not limited to: credit bureau freezes (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, Innovis), ChexSystems and NCTUE consumer-report freezes, LexisNexis freeze, IRS Identity Protection PIN enrollment, Social Security Administration account lockdown, and basic account-security hygiene.

2. Fee. The Solo Plan is $250 USD and covers one person (approx. 60-minute Session). The Duo Plan is $350 USD and covers two people (approx. 90-minute Session). The Family Plan is $450 USD and covers up to two parents plus up to two adult children (Session 2 hours). Payment is required in advance via Stripe to confirm the booking.

3. Client performs all actions. The client and the client's family member(s) are solely responsible for performing all actions on their own devices and within their own accounts. The consultant provides verbal guidance only. The consultant will not, under any circumstances:

  • Request, receive, view, or store passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers, account numbers, or any government-issued identification.
  • Take remote control of any computer, phone, or other device.
  • Log into, create, or modify any account on the client's behalf.
  • Receive, store, or transmit copies of personal documents, statements, or correspondence.

4. No fiduciary, legal, financial, or tax advice. The Session is educational and procedural in nature. The consultant is not an attorney, accountant, financial advisor, or licensed investigator. Nothing said during the Session constitutes legal, tax, financial, or investment advice. The client should consult an appropriately licensed professional for such advice.

5. No guarantee against fraud or identity theft. Identity theft can occur through means outside the scope of this Session. The consultant makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that the steps completed during the Session will prevent fraud, identity theft, or financial loss. The client acknowledges that the Session reduces but does not eliminate risk.

6. Third-party services. All identity-protection steps are performed through third-party services (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, Innovis, ChexSystems, NCTUE, LexisNexis, the Internal Revenue Service, the Social Security Administration, etc.) governed by their own terms and policies. The consultant has no affiliation with, control over, or responsibility for those services.

7. Recording. Sessions are not recorded by the consultant. The client agrees not to record the Session without prior written consent.

8. Cancellation and refunds. Bookings may be rescheduled at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the Session are non-refundable. If the consultant cancels, the client receives a full refund or a rescheduled Session at the client's option.

9. Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the consultant's total liability arising out of or relating to the Session shall not exceed the fee paid by the client. The consultant shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to losses arising from fraud, identity theft, or unauthorized account access.

10. Acknowledgment. By booking and paying for a Session, the client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
